Welcome to the Moose Jaw Art Guild

We are a diverse group of artists that live in and around Moose Jaw Saskatchewan. Located in the Canadian prairies, Moose Jaw has had a long rich history of artists coming together to share their creative interests and artistic endeavors. Today our membership represents a range of ages, interests and skills brought together by a common desire to share, exhibit, educate and foster appreciation for visual arts in our community.

Membership provides opportunity to:

*   Meet other people who share your artistic interests
*   Display and sell your work in our Annual Show and
     Sale events
*   Display your art work at the 15 Wing and Uptown Café
*   Voting rights at monthly meetings and the AGM
*   Participate in any of the Guilds' programs and
     activities (workshops, art outings and Come
     Create afternoons)
*   You may submit your work for consideration in the
     annual Guild Exhibit at the Moose Jaw Art Museum
     provided you have attended 3 meetings during the
     year
*   Enter one piece of art for the Cultural Centre Art
    Guild Exhibit
*  Membership fee - $20 per year payable to the Treasure

Meeting Times

Our meetings are usually held on the third Friday of each month but are subject to change.
This year we will be holding 5 afternoon meetings and 4 evening meetings.

Scholarships

The Moose Jaw Art Guild is pleased to offer a scholarship to one grade 9 student in each of our local high schools. The criteria are not based on or limited to scholastic standings, artistic accomplishment or post-secondary goals. It is our hope that it will be utilized to encourage a deserving student to continue to develop and explore their creative talents.
The art teacher in each school chooses which deserving student is to receive the $50.00 scholarship.

In 2010 we sponsored a Logo Contest for local High School students. The response was wonderful and shows what talented artist they are! We congratulate all of them on the originality of their work and the creative thought that went into the designs. We awarded prizes for Original Art and Original Thought.
